23 June 2018  A Monodrama about Maternity: Mamy Problem

The difficulties relating to motherhood are of interest to women of all ages, very relevant to the young and an opportunity for the older ladies to reminisce.  And this why we invited all-in-one actress, improvisational performer and theatrical teacher Magdalena Bochan-Jachimek to Bielsko-Biała on Saturday 23rd June 2018 to put on a show for our members and supporters.  The actress gave a performance of Mamy Problem (“We have a problem” or “A Mother’s Problem”*)  A Monodrama about Maternity.

Mamy Problem is about the first days of motherhood and the difficulties associated with it in a number of situations for a young mother, not all of which she manages well.

The monodrama as performed by Magdalena Bochan-Jachimek was both amusing and moving.  The excellently acted piece, requiring much effort of the artiste, was greatly enjoyed by our guests.

We are also happy to inform you that Magdalena Bochan-Jamimek is the beneficiary of a grant given by the Soroptimist International - Gdansk “Bank of Ambitious Women” award programme which allowed her to stage Mamy Problem.

·        The Polish title is a play on the word ‘mamy’ which can mean both ‘we have’ and ‘mother’s’
